Proof of Concept "POC" Human Tumor Cell Lines
TD2 has a state of the art 10,000-square-foot, AAALAC-accredited vivarium that is staffed with experts in preclinical oncology research. More than 150 human tumor cell lines, representing all of the major histologies - as well as some rare tumors - are available for compound evaluation. Many lines have been characterized using gene expression profiling data that can guide cell-line selection. In addition to traditional subcutaneous xenograft models, TD2 also offers tumor cell lines as orthotopic and metastatic models, and can incorporate imaging into these studies. In vivo efficacy studies are designed to identify optimal and streamlined development strategies for your experimental agent. Endpoints of studies include tumor growth inhibition (TGI), tumor growth delay (TGD/survival), imaging endpoints, and biomarker analysis.
Primary Tumor Models
TD2 offers primary tumor models representing major and rare histologies. These models are established directly from tumor material obtained at surgical resection and implanted within hours into immune-deficient mice. Tumors are exclusively propagated in an in vivo setting through serial transplantation for a minimal number of passages to preserve the genetic characteristics from the original patient tumor. Gene expression data is available for all tumors, as well as a database of proprietary information that will assist with the selection of the appropriate models to evaluate new compounds based on mechanism of action.
Imaging Capabilities
TD2's facility is equipped with two imaging modalities, including Visual Sonics' Vevo770, which enables the visualization and quantification of small animal anatomical targets, hemodynamics and therapeutic intervention. Through collaboration with Spectral Imaging, TD2 now has the multi-modal AMI 1000 that is designed for powerful bioluminescence, fluorescence and X-ray imaging.
Toxicology
TD2 provides strong support for your development programs by offering non-GLP toxicology assessments, including dose range finding, pharmacokinetic analysis, CMC and blood chemistries, and highly sophisticated histopathology services. These data can be extremely valuable in gaining early insights into a drug's activity and toxicity and can be added to any in vivo study as secondary endpoints.
Data Collection and Secure Access
TD2 uses fully integrated, electronic data collection software that allows for more consistent and accurate reporting of data as well as analysis and storage solution for managing research animal studies and processes.
Using Sharepoint, our clients have immediate and secure access to their study data. Data is accessible only by unique user name and password assigned at the beginning of a study. Updates are provided on a weekly basis and include individual and group mean tumor and body weights, graphs and observations.
